Somaliland: a stable democracy in Africa!
The epitome of bad governance -Somalia’s TFG

We all know Somaliland is a stable democracy that has done everything right in the good governance department for the past 18 years without any help or real engagement from the so called “International Community”. What about the TFG (Transitional Federal Government) made in Kenya for Somalia and sponsored by the EU (i.e Britain) AU, Arab League? It has no internal legitimacy whatsoever other than the Ethiopian boots. The TFG remains the craddle of government condoned piracy (Please refer to or read about the relationship of the pirates to “President” Abdillahi Yussuf in recent French boat incident Le Ponant), not to mention the blatant genocide against the Hawiye clan, nuclear waste dumping, deliberate population displacement & human trafficking, stealing of food aid, various other illegal activities such as claiming sovereignty over the already de facto independent, democratic, peacefull Somaliland.

Now that Adbilahi Yusuf the long time classic warmongerer enjoys quiet exile in Yemen we are witnessing the terrorist of yesterday now labelled as “moderate Islamist” and yet another President of “Somalia Transitional Goverment . More precisely “President” Sheik Sharif Ahmed has been installed at the helm of an ungovernable ship full of islamists and warlords masquarading as such. What “Islamist” all have in common is their greed for power and already Sharif weakness and inexperience appears once he gets confronted with Sheik Dahir Aways radical faction as well as deadlier, wicked foreign inspired Al Shabab neo talibans backed by isolated bellicose Eritrea .Needless to say Sharif a novice in politics has little control with the absence of the Ethiopians as were previous warldords based transitional government for Somalia concocted in others countries. These phantom governments only exist in the minds of U.N bureaucrats but certainly none has managed to control a quarter of Mogadishu. It’s never too late however for the world to wake up, for a bottom up approach to revive law and order, for talks to finally take place inside the country as happened in Somaliland back in 1991.There is not doubt the populace is tired of senseless wars cause by foreign hands as well as corrupt elite.Does one need a reminder that 14 conferences of the past 19 years have failed.Do we pretend the talibanization of Somalia is not real. Are we satisfied ignoring Somaliland Self Determination Rights and History at all cost? The world will not act like an ostrich forever.
Isn’t high time a traditional practial, pragmatic Somali approach was tried to solve Southern Somalia’s issues once and for all? After all Somaliland with it’s immense experience in state building, nation building, good governance, combating terrorism for years, keeping piracy at bay etc…could surely assist in the pacification of Somalia once recognized as a separate entity, a full partner with it’s distinct history, destiny.
